Collie Buddz

collie_pic Lake Worth is a haven for local live music, and if there is a central locus or ground zero incubator for start-up and established Florida bands, it’s Propaganda. It is one of the few venues in South Florida that, because of its size and set-up, still allows for an intimate experience with music and the musicians.

On May 6, they will be taking over J Street with a block party hosted by Collie Buddz.

You may be familiar with Buddz if you’re a follower of pop reggae artists like Shaggy, or remixes of Kid Cudi singles. No stranger to the festival circuit, he has made the rounds at Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Summer Jam, Reggae on the Rocks, California Roots Festival, Seattle City Arts Festival, and the Marley family’s 9 Mile Music Festival.

COLLIEPOSTERNew Orleans born, Bermuda bred Buddz will be rocking Lake Worth’s favorite live music venue along with West Palm Beach’s Making Faces, Florida’s tropical reggae, Karlos Marz Band, and California beach rock reggae band, Wheeland Brothers.

Straight outta Boynton Beach, LFTD LVLS will bring it’s reggae rock rap fusion to the inside stage, with Jupiter’s self-described island indie band, The Helmsmen, and Weird at First, who held their debut show at Propaganda last December.

South Florida is no stranger to reggae-ska-beach-rock-rap, and it’s not a bad way to bring in the early summer we enjoy here, (in fact, it’s incredibly awesome.) While the rest of the country is still in sweaters, you can show up as you are, in flip-flops and summer dresses, because everything is going to be alright at the J Street Block Party.

Join the jam on Friday, May 6 at Propaganda at 6 South J Street in Lake Worth. The event begins at 6pm and goes on, rain or shine. The inside stage at Propaganda is up for those 18 and up. The outside stage is open to partiers of all ages. Advance tickets available at www.ticketmaster.com for $20 (or avoid services fees & buy tickets at Prop) RSVP
